AIA New Hampshire Committees

Be a Citizen Architect

Numerous opportunities exist for individuals to get involved with AIA New Hampshire.  In addition to positions on the board of directors, some of which become available each year, there are many committees that do a variety of important work to advance the mission of the chapter.  Volunteering is a great way to get involved in substantial issues, meet colleagues and advance your career as a leader. Occasionally, opportunities to serve on regional and national committees are also available.

For the time being, all committee meetings are held virtually and convene on a monthly basis. Contact the AIANH office if you would like to attend a committee meeting or want to learn more about becoming a committee member.

Committee members serve one year terms with the option to renew.

Design Awards Committee

The focus of the Awards Committee is to annually highlight the best design in New Hampshire.  The awarded designs are featured through an in person event, print media, including Forum, and on the AIANH website.  The designs are further showcased  statewide in various formats and locations.  The Committee also uses the awarded work as a way to inform the public about good design.

Education Committee

The AIA New Hampshire Education Committee seeks to support the state’s K-12 schools with educational opportunities that will enhance the diversity, quality, and number of building professionals in the state.  Facilitating programs that provide exercises in critical thought and spatial learning, we hope to spark an interest and lay a foundation for a career in architecture, engineering or construction.

Chair: Sloane Mayor, AIA

Legislative Affairs Committee

This committee monitors legislative activity at the state and national levels that impacts the architecture profession and the building industry generally. When needed, the committee acts on behalf of members to engage strategically with legislators and other stakeholders.

The COTE is a broad group of inter-disciplinary professionals, including but not limited to architects, engineers, and builders.  The COTE strives to promote, through continuing education programs, visionary thinking on issues relating to energy efficiency, resiliency, and their effects on fighting climate change.
